November 2021: Letter from the Director
Holiday Season
The holidays are upon us, and we hope you can sit down to a meal with family and friends once again this season. Our upcoming events highlight delicious additions to your table.
Before we look forward, let’s look back. Our Savor event at the end of October about breast milk and infant health was lively and informative! The innovative, game show-style format was engaging, and I encourage you to watch the video recording. You won’t regret it.
There is still time to register for tonight’s Sips and Bites: UC Davis-made. We’ll highlight Aggie products and talk about holiday recipes from meat and olive oil to honey and coffee. If you have not ordered the products to taste along with us, don’t worry! You can still purchase the items and watch the recording that will be available next week. Proceeds from product sales support the UC Davis centers and their education programs; send a taste of Davis to your friends!
Speaking of UC Davis centers, the Olive Center will host an Olio Nuovo Festival on Saturday, November 20. If you haven’t heard of Olio Nuovo, it is the freshest press of olive oil for limited release and not to be missed! They have a day full of free olive and olive oil activities.
Capping off our Sips and Bites for the year, we’ll be exploring the world of artisanal tea on December 15. We’ll hear from the Global Tea Initiative, Qtrade Teas & Herbs, and ITO EN, North America, Inc. while tasting four of their exceptional teas. Tea offers a great ending to a holiday meal and our year of events.
We hope our events encourage you to add something delicious to your holiday table or give a special gift to someone this season.
Stay safe and enjoy the holidays.
Sincerely,
Andrew Waterhouse
