October 2023: Letter from the Director
Three Months In
My first three months as director at the Robert Mondavi Institute have gone by in a flash. I have enjoyed meeting with campus partners, collaborators, and supporters to learn how to continue highlighting food and beverage research and advancements in an enjoyable and approachable way. I'll continue these conversations, but I am already proud of the institute's fall programs.
TASTE on October 14 was a beautiful evening filled with music, bites, beer, wine, and RMI friends. It was a fantastic opportunity to mix and mingle with long-standing and new supporters. Thank you to all the attendees, volunteers, vendors, and staff for making TASTE 2023 a success. Watch the highlight video and visit the Facebook photo album for event highlights. If you want to support the vendors who generously donated their time and products, please visit the TASTE webpage to see the list.
Two important events are coming up in November. Savor - Brewing Change: Craft Sake in the United States will be presented virtually and is free to attend. We also have a special opportunity with Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible. On November 30, she will be the presenter at a Walt Klenz Lectureship series on wine business.
We also have two more videos to share. Watch a short visual story about the 2023 wine harvest on campus and the event recording from Forum - Farm to Kitchen: Making Foods Safe. You can subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay up-to-date when our new videos are live.
Please join one of our upcoming events and forward this newsletter to a friend to help us spread the word.
Happy fall!
