We have a challenge before us — to realize the maximum potential of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science (RMI). To fully maximize the vision of the institute, we need to raise additional private support from donors, alumni, parents, supporters and friends like you.
With your help, UC Davis will take its food and wine programs to the next level of excellence and help those industries in those vital sectors prepare for future challenges.
Construction of the Academic Buildings for the Department of Viticulture and Enology and the Department of Food Science and Technology is partially funded through the generous support of private donors and the people of the state of California, who approved the K - Higher Education Bond Act of 2004 and UC Davis.
The Anheuser-Busch Brewing and Food Science Laboratory and the Teaching and Research Winery are also planned for the Institute's complex of research and teaching facilities.

2. Winery
A new state-of-the-art winery is planned to advance the teaching and research capabilities of the Department of Viticulture and Enology. The Winery presents a unique opportunity for those who are passionate about wine to partner with the department in support of its long-standing tradition of excellence in teaching, scientific inquiry and industry service.
The facility will not be "just a winery." It will house extensive, specialized teaching and research facilities that will expand student opportunities to learn the theory and practice of winemaking.
3. Anheuser-Busch Brewing and Food Science Laboratory
The Anheuser-Busch Brewing and Food Science Laboratory will be a flexible, pilot-scale facility designed for innovative and entrepreneurial applications of food and beverage production.
The laboratory will provide a venue to operate and test new ideas and technologies in the rapidly changing fields of: food safety; brewing; fruit and vegetable processing; chocolate and confections; and dairy processing, among others. |
